Stories Quietly Told
A photography website designed to tell stories, not just display images.

The Idea
Stories Quietly Told began with a simple idea: photographs can tell richer stories when given context.
Rather than creating a conventional photography portfolio, the goal was to build a photographic journal where images, observations, and writing could come together to document places and the experiences surrounding them.
Designing the Experience
Photography and writing, working together.
The website uses generous whitespace, expressive typography, and carefully arranged photographs to create a calm, immersive reading experience.
Individual stories combine photography with personal observations, allowing visitors to experience each place through more than a collection of images.

Making stories easy to discover.
Dedicated Stories and Places sections organize the publication without relying on conventional portfolio grids.
Clear navigation, descriptive introductions, and image-led listings help readers move naturally between stories and locations.

Made for Every Screen
The editorial approach carries through to smaller screens.
Layouts adapt to the available space, allowing photographs, headlines, and written content to follow a comfortable reading sequence without losing the publication's visual identity.

The Outcome
A responsive, photography-led publication built around thoughtful storytelling.
As an independent project, Stories Quietly Told demonstrates how Maclan approaches visual identity, content organization, user experience, and website development as parts of one cohesive experience.
